Systems Architect

As Lead Systems Architect for Digital and Mobile platform, you will define, develop and manage architecture strategy and solution for one of more platform components that support the Digital and Mobile products. You will identify and prioritize the key capabilities the platform needs, act as a product owner in defining the technical specifications, create solution approaches and work with the engineering teams in building the roadmap for executing the strategy. This role requires an acute sense of attention to detail and a flexible, team-player approach. Superior organization, written communication and verbal communication skills are required.

Key Responsibilities
-Responsibilities include, but are not limited to functional requirements review, architecture strategy development, and platform architecture design.
-Work with engineering professionals, architects and others within Visa to ensure that the solution will scale appropriately while being cost effective.
-Work with developers and guide them from technical perspectives during project construction.
-Identify opportunities in the engineering platform that will drive improvements in performance, scalability, reliability and re-usability. Create architecture specifications to meet the platform needs.
-Propose platform architecture solutions and ensure the engineering teams and Senior Leadership align with the solutions.
-Maintain technology roadmap of the engineering platform and proactively work with the program management organization in driving the technology roadmap.
-Provide guideline and long term architecture strategy, and ensure compliance of the reference architecture and security requirements.
-Perform proofs of concept (PoCs) and other technical evaluations of technologies, designs, and solutions, if required.
-Manage the creation of technical architect design documentation.
-Troubleshoot production problems, when requested, and ensure that a proper resolution is identified and implemented in a timely manner.

Qualifications
-Minimum of eight years of experience in systems and solution design, architecture, and development.
-Must have prior experience in architecting and/or developing systems that have mobile front-end and backend. Hands-on experience on both iOS and Android development environments.
-Understand approaches and challenges in releasing mobile applications and lifecycle of these applications.
-Knowledge in Mobile Backend as a Service and key components of mobile backend services.
-Have exposure in mobile security for consumer facing applications.
-Must have working experience in high volume and large scale distributed systems.
-Must have hands-on experience in using UML for system architecture design.
-Expert knowledge in HTTP, REST, JSON, XML, AJAX, SPA and design patterns.
-Strongly versed in system architecture principles and demonstrated Architecture/Engineering experiences several areas of Security, NFC, Mobile, Java, J2EE, Spring framework, Performance Scalability, Messaging, Authentication, and oAuth.
-Knowledge in SQL and noSQL database systems.
-Experience in building high-volume consumer facing systems and/or Payments, ecommerce systems is a strong plus.
